![]() ![]() ![]() The best thing that I really liked about it is that I can easily share the important information with the group video chat. I would really like this software because it is the most powerful messaging tool. He seems to think it's the bee's knees.Ĭhat is the best software for the communication purpose. Thanks to him, for instance, every time you paste in a link in Google Chat, a MASSIVE preview bubble appears, and there's no way to disable this. There aren't nearly the same sort of integrations with Google Chat as with Slack or even Microsoft Teams and believe it or not, I've actually spoken with the at Google, and he's an absolute idiot. They killed the Google Chat desktop application, and the web application has a habit of being slow and clunky. Google Chat's interface is frustrating to say the least. Google Chat is included with a Google Workspace subscription, so if money is an issue, using Google Chat can help you save money versus paying for something much more expensive like Slack. But if you want something that "works" just to have a chat platform, well, it's there. It still doesn't have nearly the sort of integration support that Teams does and it's certainly nowhere in Slack's territory. Google Chat: 10,000,000+ installs, 2.8 review score.Google is clumsily trying to turn Google Chat into something like Microsoft Teams, but it isn't really working. Oh, and Google (and more importantly major Google shareholders), the numbers speak for themselves: Doesn't hurt to leave a negative review on your reasons for leaving in the play store either. If they won't bring it back and maintain it (hint: they won't) then vote with your feet and walk from Google. Messaging applications are a dime a dozen, and there's many out there which combine all the things that Hangouts had which Google took a wrecking ball to. Google Chat is a hot steaming featureless pile of garbage, and I hope people don't just settle, and use this opportunity to exit the Google messaging space entirely. That said, they really screwed up on this. Time and time and time again they show this, with a massive growing graveyard of successful products that will now include Hangouts. What I don't understand is why the shareholders haven't realized that the reason their things fail (also why people are fleeing Google's own work suites back to Microsoft O365) is because Google has proven that it's completely disorganized, and unable to commit to long-term stability and maintainability in their products. If their history has proven anything, it's that they will kill hugely successful products on a whim, and then fabricate unrelated reasons why thing like Stadia fail. I highly doubt Google is going to give a crap about any of these threads.
